Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept trade-ins?
Yes! We accept many mobility scooters and power chairs as trade-ins toward the purchase of new equipment. In many cases, we can provide an estimated trade-in value before you visit our showroom, with a final value determined after an inspection.
We may also purchase equipment outright, depending on its condition, age, and current market demand.
How is my trade-in value determined?
Several factors affect the value of your mobility scooter or power chair:
Age
- Newer equipment typically has a higher resale value.
- In most cases, we do not accept equipment that is more than five years old.
Usage
- Lower usage generally means less wear and a higher value.
- Heavy use can reduce resale value due to normal wear and battery life.
Make & Model
Some manufacturers retain their value better because of:
- Proven reliability
- Availability of replacement parts
- Strong customer demand
- Original purchase price
Overall Condition
We evaluate both appearance and functionality.
- Excellent: Fully operational with minimal cosmetic wear.
- Good: Normal wear with everything functioning properly.
- Fair: Cosmetic wear or minor repairs needed.
- Poor: Significant damage, major repairs required, or not operational.
Battery Condition
Battery health plays a major role in value. Equipment with newer or properly functioning batteries is worth more than equipment needing battery replacement.
Features & Accessories
Premium seating, suspension systems, power elevating seats, lighting packages, baskets, canopies, and other accessories may increase trade-in value.
Original Purchase Price & Depreciation
Like automobiles, mobility equipment depreciates over time. While every unit is different, a general guideline is:
- Year 1: 25–40% depreciation
- Year 2: Additional 10–15%
- After 3 years: Value depends primarily on condition, maintenance, and demand.
Current Market Demand
Trade-in values are also influenced by the current resale market for similar equipment in the Yuma area and online marketplaces.
